The firm behind your numbers
Apal is small on purpose. It means you get an experienced accountant who knows your business, not a file passed around a big office.

Tony took the long road to private practice: four years in the Marine Corps, then a decade as a federal auditor, negotiating indirect cost rates for organizations with expenditures up to $3 billion.
At the Department of the Interior, his job was to hold other people's numbers to federal standards — audit them, question them, and negotiate them. He started Apal in 2022 for a simple reason: most people never get an accountant who pays that kind of attention. The books are behind, the last preparer went quiet, or the only contact all year was a bill in April. Apal was built to fix exactly that.
More than a hundred individuals and small businesses now trust Apal with their books and filings. Most of the business clients are S-Corporations, which is where the firm's tax-planning work runs deepest. That experience works in your favor: the person planning your tax strategy is the same person who keeps books like yours all year long, and who answers the same day when you have a question.
Apal is family-run, with a small team behind Tony that keeps the work moving without losing the personal attention that brought you in. Away from the desk, Tony races road and gravel bikes at the amateur level. The discipline carries over.
The goal is simple: take the financial weight off your shoulders and put real strategy in its place.
Questions get answered by the person doing your work, usually the same day.
Planning happens during the year, so April holds no surprises.
You will always understand what we did and why it matters to you.
Clean books and accurate returns are the baseline, not the goal you hope for.
